I would recommend starting in your backyard and hone your skills if its possible, I know some markets have an extreme HCOL which may make it unfavorable in your case.

The key to the letter is making sure it is very clear you are not a real estate agent.   

To have your taxes prepared for EACH llc - and YES I strongly suggest you have a tax preparer for your taxes, one that specializes for Real Estate investors.
