Hi - so was toying with this scenario in my mind...My company (or a company of a distant relative, if necessary) - constructs a beautiful single family home for ~$750,000 and mortgage it as well.

Similar distant out, little better schools, a little more desirable area in my opinion.The only thing you should consider is that the Harvest market has been hot.

If investing in a distant area with the right number, then house hacking would not be an option.

They do need rehabs but solid comps in the area and new development that will increase property values in the not too distant future.
