After buying the property and viewing it I quickly realized why noone had rented either of the vacant units: both units had what looked to be mouse crap on the floor and the other unit had a broken window (not cracked - a literal hole in the glass) and there was a hole punched in the drywall (covered using cardboard).

If it turns to crap, at least you will have learned some valuable lessons.I’m in a similar situation but I’m looking at lower price ranges, and I am terrified but I’ve doing all the due diligence I possibly can.Good luck to you!

Usually for these sellers it means nothing and that they did the cheapest crap possible with some carpet replacement, paint, and new knobs and maybe some fixtures if your lucky.I could care less about such items.
