Just think of it as another tool to your arsenal. 

Once you do some wholesaling then you'll probably want to add some other strategies to your arsenal... fix and flip, long term rentals, etc.

As for the ability to convince a SoCal PR to sell at a substantial discount, I suggest that one had better have an arsenal of skills and a good understanding of real estate. 

I need the arsenal of tools it takes to make it happen.
