Also, portable units can bring great initial results when a lot of soap is used, but the residual soap collects dirt right away and the carpet looks bad again real quick.

What if your tenant cooks a lot of curry and the smell/oil residue from that gets all over the walls?

To get the best adhesion from the drylock, ALL the peeling paint should be removed and any other areas that are suspect.

If you can find it, there are vinyl plank that have a releasable adhesive already applied to them that leave no residue if removed so you could refinish the floor at a later date should you choose.

@Steve Haight I was just meaning to add that there is virtually no buildup or residue from smoking the marijuanas.At least ... that's what I've heard.

Ultimately, per @Christopher Phillips link, the residual land value analysis is the preferred methodology.
