United Airlines has announced possible layoffs of 36,000 employees, American Airlines has noted 25,000 employees, and 17,000 Delta employees have already agreed to receive buyouts or early retirement packages.

Unless there are mass layoffs or mistakes made with monetary policy, I'm really not expecting a repeat of the great recession.

The government’s process of seasonal adjustments made it look like hiring rose simply because those layoffs did not take place in July as usual.

The resurgence of coronavirus cases this summer sapped our economy of momentum, delayed the return of workers to their jobs, and in some cases spurred more layoffs.

In the next few months you'll see which "furloughs" turn into actual layoffs, and the likely stalemate from a stimulus standpoint will affect vacancies and collections.

@Nancy Stark I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, but the eviction moratorium is only for non-payment of rent, and the tenant has to prove they were unable to pay due to substantial loss of household income, loss of compensable hours of work or wages, a lay-off, or extraordinary out-of-pocket medical expenses.
