Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, it was just a bummer to have to try and juggle getting this taken care of while we were gone.The day after we got back, apparently another tenant had their toilet come loose while we were gone, but it wasn't an emergency and they were kind enough to wait until we got back to tell us.However, overall, I try to stay on top of repairs and keep things in good condition. 

Assume a dumb *** landlord might say "you are denied because of the colour of your skin".

classic Home warranty scheme- A/C stuff is serious and would always require a quick trip to take a look- Wait an extra day.

My daughter had a similar scheme happen to her with a PM, and this tact worked with them.Next, your contract probably says that if the place is ever deemed uninhabitable, that the contract is void.  

I don't personally buy into any get rich quick schemes.

I bought a property from a guy involved in a similar scheme.

To me is one big Ponzi/ Pyramid scheme.

It looks like you just got the bad BAD apple.You mentioned dealing with this for "quite some time" but in the scheme of things it will be a blink of an eye in your investor career.

Or, getting involved in a get-rich-quick scheme, none of which make any money for anyone except the guru promoting it (with books and seminars and memberships- why do they have to do that if they really got rich off their real estate investing, I ask you).

I don't want to be a patsy in a Ponzi scheme, but I also don't want to hold an old mistake against someone.
