There's definitely a housing shortage for those staying much longer than a week!  

Calgary has a lot of new apartment buildings so there's no shortage in that market.

Peter, If there is a shortage of cleaning people, why don't you start a company.

I think this would be a great opportunity though to help out the lower level renters because of the entry level apartment shortages that are happening.

To me, as long as there's a housing shortage here combined with a migration to the area (currently approx 32 people per day moving to the metro) is a good combination for owning rental properties here in Charleston.

But we've had a housing shortage for quite a few years.

You can make a lot of money buying cheap properties here in Cleveland, we've got no shortage of those. 

If builder can build homes which help a family to make a side income, help travelers have more options, increase number of units to fight housing shortage, help investors to make more money with RE than the builder will become succesful.

I own handful and yes the premium over valued right now, must find any assets undervalued or beat up... be careful buying...But real estate bought right inside next 10 months inside 7-10 years will doubled to rate cuts and shortage in inventory... 

Given Central Oregon's current rental housing shortage I think that has changed but don't have first hand confirmation.
