After the removal, depending how bad it looks you can paint it or if its many imperfections , ill rent a machine in home depot and do knockdown texture in the whole place. 

That's not to say you won't do a better job than I did, but I would just recommend that you see it as more of a learning opportunity than an overnight money-making machine.
