I agree with everything you wrote about the financial situation in Cali, yes we all hear how much easier it is in Texas, for example. and I still miss the days when we lived in Florida, and did not pay income tax. ...The point is, and if you think you will have a fair chance of being equally happy, in another state, I would give it a serious thought. but do not leave a place that you have roots in , and you love, just because it is harder. difficaulties can take many forms.

Computer Engineer here, for me it's because I do like numbers, efficiency and have a knack to fix things through Root Cause Analysis.

I was dead set on becoming an English teacher and switched to accounting in my junior year of college, and that decision had roots in my experience of watching the recession play out as a teenager.

Whether that's because there are too many agents just trying to quick sell others into joining, or because of other internal flaws within a rapidly growing organization, or whatever the root cause may be, the problem exists.

All this movement for both cities and the area as a whole is due to major moves from global tech companies buying up space to expand operations and new startups deciding to stick around here instead of looking to set down roots in places such as Silicon Valley, Austin and New York.

They have been rooting against the home team and the economy.

Within the past few years Apple, Google (both those to the west des moines area) plus Facebook and now Amazon (to the east of Des Moines) have put down HUGE roots.

Oh boy, Louisiana is the strangest state in terms of the types of laws that may apply to your particular case, given their Civic Law roots.
