Does anyone have tips on DIY installation of Formica countertops?

There are places where a Section 8 tenant will expect, and get, granite countertops and new stainless appliances.The only thing I have ever removed from a rental so that I won't have to deal with it breaking is a doorbell.

On the flip side, I am hoping the home isn't totally maxed out and I can go in and replace the carpet with vinyl flooring and change out the kitchen cabinets and counter tops.

Replace rotted door trim around back exterior door, install a flashing on top of the back patio roof (seal the gap between the side of the house and the patio roof), level large stones in the back patio that have shifted over time, replace a couple pieces of broken vinyl siding, add transition pieces between vinyl floor and tile floor (2 transitions), fix a couple outlets that aren't working, replace cabinets, countertops, and add tile backsplash in the kitchen.This is obviously more than a couple days' work, but I'm capable of doing most of this myself, I'm just looking for some help to speed up the process so I can get it on the market faster. 

Tasks left are cabinet install, countertops install, final electrical and plumbing, and cleaning/prepping for sale.I have scheduled subcontractors over the last 3 weeks on different days to minimize contact between crews, and building contractors are on the list for services exempt from the order.

What kind of cabinets and countertops are they?

Overlooking the Living areas, the Kitchen offers 42" Cabinets, corian countertops, recessed lighting with eating space in the kitchen that has a bay window overlooking the pool with Jacuzzi and pond.

However, currently the kitchen still has the original formica countertop.

If you don't have time, I would suggest not doing a renovation - I did a local renovation which took 5 months and went over budget and I was on site at least once a week and I purchased some of the materials (kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops and lights).
