Rents have been falling in the city over at least the past year or so and in the years prior to that landlord concessions were at unprecedented highs (paying broker fees, months of free rent, Amazon giftcards etc.)

Just like 2008 was unprecedented at the time, this is also unprecedented, so I recommend a high level of caution

While there is still plenty of room to improve, if all you can do is play the victim card during an era of unprecedented equality laws, then I suggest taking a long, objective look in the mirror.  

We also know that unemployment is at unprecedented levels, mortgage delinquencies are way up, and small businesses are closing left and right.
