The newer seismic codes are overkill, IMO, as many have been lobbied for hard by Simpson; there are many homes on the sides of hills in LA from the 60’s that have no seismic retrofitting and are still standing.Before going too far down the path of retrofitting your CMU building I would make sure that it isn’t already filled with rebar and mortar, as well as bond beams.

I am currently working with amazon to get devices installed to allow amazon drivers to be tracked and deliver packages to a property inside the lobby or restricted access if the driver has a package for some one in the building.

Not only do they have a lot of great benefits just for joining (free landlord forms, legal advice, webinars, etc), but they'll send you regular updates on all the pending legislation that affect us landlords (like this one) and they help lobby against (and defeat) the ones that hurt us.  

I have some associates in the private lending industry who are lobbying against this.

The association of probate judges has lobbied the Secretary of State quite hard... looking for that extra $50-$60 per LLCs in their county.

Do you like restaurants, malls, vacations, movie theaters?

Even in a small town I hear complaints of how some guy was smoking pot in the lobby of the ski lodge or hallway of the motel the school kids were staying at.
