What makes people prefer airbnb than hotel these days, especially the rate of hotels are relatively competitive (airbnb becomes more expensive than it used to be), i.e. is it still a viable business for the most part? 

In Franklinton there are plenty of large projects going on that will bring massive growth to the west side of Columbus, such as the Peninsula Development, which is a multiphase project that will erect a 24 story apartment complex featuring a grocery store, a multi use office space building, and a new hotel featuring a two-story Pins Mechanical venue.

Here in FL 1/2 bedrooms have to compete not only with other units but also hotels.

Now I have to relocate the tenant, pay for hotel accommodations and the home is not habitable. 

Unfortunately the numbers are tight because there is more competition of small units and even somewhat competing with hotels with a 2/2 as some hotels have suites. 

Certainly it was not an investor experience, unless you were a hotel or ACTUAL BED & BREAKFAST OWNER. 

Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, etc), sophisticated rate management and paying all state and local hotel taxes.
