@Nolan Neu, as a physician myself, I suggest that you concentrate on your studies now, while learning as much as you can about REI.

I have a background in sales and physician network development.We've begun reading and digesting the Getting Started Guide in addition to the suggested links and podcasts. 

Here's a few of the good ones:- Traveling physicians, nurses, and healthcare researchers- Visiting educators and professors- Families of individuals undergoing medical procedures or extended recovery- Government contractors- Military personnel and their familiesAnd that's just to name a few.If you're willing to put in a small amount of additional effort in reaching out to the HR department at a regional medical center nearby, the admissions office of a local university or a local teaching hospital, and other research facilities, etc., you may find that you'll be in like flint.

I am a CPA who manages a group of physicians.  

Maybe I am a bit biased because I am most comfortable in the suburbs and am not one for city-living, so take this with a grain of salt...I am studying to be a physician and have trained at Niagara Memorial Hospital and I would get into this city and out as quickly as possible.

I  think the right thing to do will be to do more due diligence i.e. to spend time with ppl in local REI  , read real estate books and see if this is a good fit for me given my career as an aspiring physician( which means I might have to  move in a year or two out of state to finish my training) .

I moved from Utah last year to attend Physician Assistant school here in PA and I run my marketing agency on the side with a partner.

My girlfriend and I recently moved to Dallas for our fulltime jobs as a pharmacist and I am a physician, respectively.
