"reglazing" MIGHT last 3-5 years; fiberglass 4-8 years; a proper ceramic (or cultured marble) surround should easily last 20+ years.

When I pull out a one-piece unit, I replace the tub with a new steel unit ( more durable ) , then have a (white) cultured marble surround put in.
