We have made some improvements to the house over the years, knocked out a wall for a open floor plan, laminate flooring, and a new roof (thank you hail damage).

Okay so the insurance guy came out for wind and hail damage.On the 2 roofs he says to the roofer that felt was not put on the original roofs so they will pay out but not cover the felt cost.I have never heard of that.I thought the felt was put on all roofs??
