And, if you were able to generate $500/mo cash flow as Scott suggests, his method would not replace your income: if you could do only 3 properties a year that would net $1500/mo cash flow and it would take you 10 years to scale it to $15000/mo.

I am not saying it would have been 100% prevented if hadn't done these dumb actions, but with 100% certainty the scale of it all would have been different, lessor. 

I might be bias, but most large corporations are focused so much on scaling that they lose touch on the client's needs.

I don’t mind having skin in the game either, but I know using private money is key to scaling one day and would like to get some experience with it now, even if it doesn’t fund a majority of the deal.
