Why not look at re-developing homes or enlarging them: If you go on the MLS you will see a number of homes where you can do this: for example: eagle rock: look for homes that are selling for about 1.2 to 1.5 (they will be around 2000 sq ft to 2500 sq ft) in that area: Then look for homes in that area that are about 800 to 1200 sq ft with a decent lot size: Strategy: buy them under 800k : with 20% down: then get permits to build them up to the 2000 to 2500 sq ft: depending on other factors: that will cost you about 200k to 300k respectively: $800k plus $300k is : $1.1 and then sell them for 1.3 to 1.5 million. 2.
