I know overseas the government helps a lot and you don't need to have a massive amount down.My plan is to buy relatively cheap for my first time ($55k equivalent) with a 10% down.Everyday I try to browse online listings to start getting an idea as to how much apartments are costing, and to get better ideas as to what units cost in the different areas.All the best man, you are already better off than most people your age!

Plus there are several current and former military members on the site, so just browse thier Forum and blog posts to get some other insightsKen

I think  i found a new hobby to replace facebook browsing.

You won't be able to search for anything and browse, but a few daily emails in a large enough region will provide enough new listings to keep you busy.  

I'm projecting a monthly of 850 to 900, though I'll have it with a management firm since I'm out of state.I've browsed some HMLs and the terms are quite steep--what John suggests sounds best.And it could be replicated on small rehab and hold properties.Is the cash out refi not common with banks?
