Used him for over 10 years and he is very honest and has a helper who is also a hard worker.  

The rental maintenance projects I need done are not anything major, just too many little items for me and my helper to stay on top of. 

I have a helper on stand by, but appliance electronics is not part of his skill set. 

A storage business is not passive unless the income is there to hire a full time manager and other helpers.

Eventually, 1000 front doors and less work owning 2 or three large complexes giving off $750,000-$1,000,000.00 a year with resident apartment managers, HVAC maintenance person and a helper or two and another larger management company overseeing all operations, that reports directly to me.  

I would avoid being a short-sale negotiator or loan modification helper, at least while you're getting started, however.

i will go back to my favorite home depot helper (the plumbing aisle guy) and stock up on gaskets!!

He will however be a valuable helper from time to time if I get stuck.  

Apparently this so-called landlord was nothing more than a helper of the previous owner.
