As a general rule of thumb, steer clear from educational gurus charging to “train” you. 

Those answers are "noise" and will steer you towards an emotional decision and a bad investment. 

Matthew, you may come to find that many people on BP tend to steer clear of properties in D/F class neighborhoods and invest in A/B/C class neighborhoods mostly because of the hassle that tends to follow in these “less than desirable” markets.

Maybe this is a silly assumption, but wouldn't a realtor in this case simply steer me towards their own listings?

You seem like a stand up guy and I wouldn't think you'd steer anybody wrong.

@Lauren Hogan, here's mine:  Bigger Pockets has saved me tens of thousands of dollars and tremendous headache by steering me from making bad, uninformed decisions that I could have made had I not gained from the experience and knowledge of others through BP.

You can offer what you want, but some agents will steer their buyers away from those.Lastly - when I do take the classes and pass the exam - 1 - Can I go to Weichert and Coldwell and they'll register me with them?...

Don't worry if they're not "investor friendly" you're steering the ship mon!
