As a therapist I have worked with several families from India who have shared those similar cultural beliefs and they have had conflicts with their kids who have grown up in the US.I have a strong belief in education and I absolutely support it.

Because I'll be sitting there, financially independent, with a million or more (having grown tax free from a few hundred thousand) in retirement accounts that I can choose to use or not use.
