On the subject of generator switches this is the one we have been installing.http://www.homedepot.com/p/Generac-Prewired-30-Amp...But if you have a portable generator why bother with the cost & trouble installing a transfer switch, unless it's going to be a future selling point???

rooms could be smaller, closets small or non-existent and other functional obsolescence.Just like people like new cars, people like new houses.

(Every three years is a good time to upgrade though).With the desktop you can install it on your laptop and use it in the field so it is also portable that way.
