In fact, I know one local investor who just bought a former turnkey from an out-of-area investor for less than 1/3 of what the investor paid a couple years ago.As someone who has lived and worked in the city of Detroit, and follows the city and local real estate on a daily basis, I wouldn't recommend investing in the city unless you've done your own independent in-depth analysis, and spent time here.

Grove, but (IMHO) most of the {pricy} programs aimed at newer investors do not provide an adequate return on your capital out lay (which can be as much, or more, than the down-payment on a property).If you are the type of person who learns best in a formal setting , as opposed to self-study, I would suggest that auditing a course or two on real estate at a local college or university would provide a more in-depth knowledge with out all the salesmanship for the "Even Bigger Dog" programme.

Following our screening, credit, employment, income, previous and present landlord, drive by present residence etc. we inform them as to whether they are accepted or not.We have a criteria for the ideal tenant and eliminate many following the personal interview without having to do the in-depth screening.
