I was talking to my banker in Hillsboro and asking them how the other builders are doing  and its slow across the board.. and I think what you seeing Is pricing finally starting to level off.. which will mean subs will have to quite jacking their prices and lumber will have to calm down or building is going to slow a lot .Now one thing that was floated at least in our area here is this was the first summer that many finally felt financially safe enough to go on that extended vacation that they had been putting off so foot traffic is way down.. and I know when I go to PDX I am usually parking on the very top floor :).. and airline tickets to Hawaii have doubled and tripled .. so we know demand is there. 

On the east coast you can't not deal with people who have 300-400 plus SFR's and even here it's tricky to find a good buyer to unload a ~10+ unit package too. 

(Particularly in Mid-Hudson Valley of NY if that makes a difference for licensing, etc.)I don’t want to cross any boundaries with my first post, but I’m trying to gain a foundation of knowledge to help my family unload some inherited land.

They store all of their customers items in wood crates and have docks/forklifts to load/unload, etc.

So your points are very well taken.. plus can you imagine trying to build new construction in the C and D areas.. your materials would get stolen as quickly as they are taken to the site.. you dump your lumber pac and you cant secure the house .. you would need 24 hour security in those areas..

I will caution that you come off sounding desperate to unload these properties.
