Took the house down to the studs, new electrical, plumbing, furnace, some new ductwork, new windows...new everything.

The equipment is usually more than the labor for HVAC, especially if your duct work is already in place.

Some of the jobs looking to hire out for include replacing back deck, replace a ton of drywall, electrical, 2 bathrooms, couple windows, and some duct work. 

It had no ductwork so I bought a ductless mini split from the Heat pump store in Portland Oregon.

This means you don't need ductwork, as long as you have a clear path for the little tube from the condenser to the head unit.Different condensers can run more than one head unit.

This was a major (and beautiful) remodel, and everything in the home was replaced - new A/C unit, new duct work throughout, new irrigation system in the backyard, new artificial turf in the front, new flooring, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, and designer features found throughout!

Our ductwork is in the slab as well as water pipes.

I am analyzing a potential flip opportunity in the Chicago-land area and I am wondering if anyone has previous experience in adding duct work and forced air units to an old house. 

Who knows if I got the extra mile but I did appreciate the extra information about my duct work in the attic he told me about.  

I believe I also detected at least a hint of actual smoker smell underneath.I'm so bummed out because everthing leading up to that day was going great, but as we were looking at the house, I couldn't think of anything else but the fact that the seller was a smoker.I'm now looking at options for smoker remediation, such as scrubbing the hard floors with vinegar, replacing carpet, painting all walls, cleaning or replacing AC duct work, ozone machine, etc.
