There is so much that goes into rehabbing a property that these ridiculous tv shows don't tell you at all.

They advertise on tv/radio non-stop.

DEFINITELY not like the TV shows (which are not reality) but if you advertise the auction, you could recoop losses by bringing buyers that know how to resell the products inside (if/when applicable to what's stored).

I don't think its seminars and tv shows that is a byproduct of the root cause, confidence in the market.

You say it seems like Orlando or TV has good rentals.

Happy to have a conversation on investment - my wife really likes watching the tv series Homes under the Hammer - great stories.  

Write to the Travel Channel, get on Ghost Adventures, your house will become famous, raise the rent due to people wanting to live in a haunted house they saw on TV. 

Other things you need to factor in: utilities like satellite TV/internet (which, since the house probably doesn't have access to cable, internet can be An Issue), and will the HOAs allow short-term rentals?
