Am interested in buying a property in Brisbane since Sydney and Melbourne seem too expensive for the moment, anyone have any recommendations for which suburbs or areas would be good?

New Zealand and Australia for example have no private note industry, no REO system, foreclosures at all are rare.  

You might have better results with Australia or New Zealand.

I've just stared wholesaling property in Australia.

I'm also a foreigner, since I moved to the US 13 years ago from Australia where it is all a bit different - and what I thought would work the same way, particularly with taxes, does not.

I have also rented from an Owner who was living abroad in Australia for almost 5yrs, however I had personally met with them when going to visit the property and we agreed then an there,  They had never utilized the program before and in fact had only ever rented as a Corporate short term property,  Needless to say, I stayed there for 5yrs until they sold the home...

I have bought 7 traditional buy and holds in both IN and NC and one in my home country of Australia.

On top of the RBA here in Australia dropped interest rates.

I have seen many examples of this when travelling mostly in urban areas.But are there mom and pop investors commonly doing this type of investing with houses in places like Australia, NZ, Europe or highly developed areas of Asia in the same way that we are here?
