Have someone else buy the property (significant other) and leap frog the loans.

If a Central Business District is hollowing out, it may not be a great opportunity to convert to apartments in the case that the demand for housing can erode away too.

Solid core doors may be overkill depending on your market, so you could go hollow core doors which would be cheaper at <$150.Interior Trim $6kUnless the previous homeowner had dogs that scratched the heck out of the interior trim, you could probably re-use the existing trim. 

The previous landlord or property manager apparently thought hollow interior doors were ok to put on as entry doors; no bueno.
