Some of it is cultural, I am a kiwi (new Zealander), and most of our clients are from similar cultures to ours where we tend to resent paying for anything.

[side rant] - I'm also of the opinion though that if you don't at least try it on your own then you'll never have an appreciation for how convoluted our tax code is and you end up believing the hype that certain TV Celebrities turned Politicians cheat on their taxes which leads to bad decisions in the voting booth (not to get all political or anything).I do appreciate your feedback and suggestions though and I hope there's no offense.

Up to that point, I had been saving money for tuition, so when I dropped out I had a nice little pile of cash that wasn't being used for tuition anymore, and if it wasn't for my dad's foresight I probably would've spent it on something dumb like a 6-month-long spring break (The "drunk on the beach" kind, not the "seeing the world and becoming a more-well rounded, cultured individual" kind).
