Just look up problems or people that got screwed in investments in timeshares throughout Mexico, houses in Baja California and housing specifically in Cancun, and the three cities previously mentioned.The cruise lines have an unbelievable budget to research and study the ports they feel comfortable and safe with.

Both parents were felons, addicts, and very bad with money so the idea of creating wealth wasn't introduced to me until later in life, And even then it seemed impossible.

(I am assuming that you don't have direct experience with addiction and recovery, or have experience as a therapist.)You will not be welcome as a sober home operator, yourself.

Once you get it rented out you will be addicted to the cashflow especially if you can aim for middle to upper rents.

My agent is quite amazing, but I've had to deal with MANY incompetent agents on the other side of the table and it is unbelievable what some of them would do/say.
