I had to take a bus for 3 hrs to get it and be patient, but got it for $1800, at least $1800 below blue book.

Yes, people can get hit by a bus or a falling piano. 

Eventually you just get used to the abuse.

I just canceled my monthly vacation rental from VRBO because their business model puts you at higher risk without being able to have the time to properly screen people etc. and that allows for scammers to come and abuse your property.  

This can be abused in so many ways by the tenant and places all the burden on the landlord.

And in general....I've lived in Seattle for all my adult life,  and been a small landlord since 2006.Its true that supply and demand is a fundamental law of economics, and as more comparatively well off people pile into seattle, housing is going to get more expensive and the bottom-barrel housing units that used to be out there 10 or 20 years ago that people who were living solely on disability or SSI or maybe could hold down a low wage job despite issues like substance abuse or mental illness were able to afford is getting redeveloped.   

But, it didn't take marketers to convince me that I didn't want to raise my family in a neighborhood where seeing passed out drug abusers sleeping in business landscaping was a normal thing. 

OMG..... i see the reasoning but it gives a license to people for abuse....Invest in Texas!!

I considered reporting this post as abuse (which it clearly is), but prefer to tackle issues head on instead of asking others to sort them out for me.
