In Arkansas if you disconnect power to a house to replace a panel, it has to be brought to code and the power company requires a permit to be pulled by a licensed contractor before they will reconnect.

I had a recent situation where  my tenant had her power cut and they went and cut the lock off of the meter,and reconnected  her power, which is illegal. the power company came and removed the meter.

And no, you can't just turn it off in the summer, because they also charge a reconnection fee.I DARE anybody to post your gas and electric rates and prove gas heating is cheaper.

Seems to work for me.In one case, I have an awkward bend but it is accessible so I disconnect, pull out the lint by hand and reconnect Takes 5 min.

I then have to have all work inspected and call the power company to reconnect wires to the home and put in the new meter.

When you reconnect with your Broker ask them to put you through the CPM (Certified Portfolio Manager) program.

I assume I will still be on the hook for digging up the yard/street and reconnecting to the sanitary sewer, what are your guys thoughts on that.
