Or perhaps I should just start bugging the planning office to see what I can find out direct in the first instance...Part of our property is sloped & as such I think we'll need some engineering time in order to get the build right (and also I want to add some decking out over the slope for the main house).The numbers all look good, we should be able to finance it easily enough with a Heloc or similar so now just pondering the best way to jump in!

I have now 5 rentals located in Denton and Ponder TX.

Another question I've been pondering is what do people file their rental income under, I've seen a lot of posts about people filing them under schedule E (no service/on-site manger). 

I ponder what I know tend to be basic questions, but it's interesting, as when I search, I'm unable to find answers to what appear to be the obvious sometimes, so thought I would give it a shot with a first post! 

That's 2/3 of my income not coming in for an unknown period of time.I'm also pondering my ability to maintain by paying some of the mortgage and the bills of the building if it remains empty for a while. 

The last two months have consisted of me eating a poverty diet, not having fun because I can't afford to go anywhere, sleepless nights, having to ponder selling my car just to make loan payments, and seeing about $25k of profit go out the window.So what would I have done differently...1.  

Ponder that statistically money people did not earn themselves is gone in a period of two years.  

The fact that you are actually doing it vs pondering is great. 

Tenants you might focus on obviously need clients in those locations.Just pondering what kind of client base would be surrounding that area.

I've pondered the condo route too because they are cheap and it looks like the rents to purchase price are closer to the multifamily units.
