However, the American Bar Association encourages their use, and according to the Oregon Bar Association, "Prepaid legal plans have been endorsed by the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), a savvy group with no interest other than equal justice for all.

I am not endorsing any of the above.

However, I think the article @Joe Villeneuve cites isn't the best endorsement of SE Michigan / Detroit.

And in the day in CA we used to endorse the back of the Trust deed when paid off .. there was a spot there for signing the reconveyance..

Most folks are depositing claimant checks in their bank accounts using a POA,   I spoke to one Assistant Manager here in Cali and she stated that they would not accept a check  that was not endorse to me.
