Seen that play a few times.. this whole sub to being taught to under capitalized or starter investors who don't know what they don't know and learn this on line is just so very dangerous.

It isn't impossible but as @Jimmy Lieu mentioned, there is a steep learning curve.Depending on your liquidity, out-of-state buy & hold rentals could be your best bet if NYC investing is out of the picture.

Unfortunately, while all the online places area great sources of information, you are much less likely to take action, or find someone to shadow, when online in a forum. 

I think it requires some "black-swans" to get us there but hey, that's my take, who knows, I also thought shopping online was dumb back when, lol. 

Your best bet would be to find a portfolio lender whose niche aligns with your investment strategy.

But, I bet-ya it's also effective.  

I am betting your gonna find a lot more friendly amicable persons than shut doors. 

Since the last time I was online, I have grown the investing to fix and flipping and a portfolio of 4 properties that are producing passive income.  

Sounds like their combined income likely beats your other tenants.Your gut is probably your best bet and you need to go with it.
