To be blunt, both have older/odder leaders with older attendees with their older mindsets, so it is not as good as it could be.  

You should also be aware, @Richard Villandry , that every group is different, has its own flavor, rules, fees or no-fees, memberships or no-memberships, and experience level of the attendees.  

The presenters are not spending money to rent a room and equipment and buy refreshments for attendees to make friends...they want to sell product or services.As   @Anthony Micklus  said, go to the seminar to pick up a tidbit or two that may be beneficial...just leave your checkbook and credit cards at home.

Yesterday we started selling the Audio Recordings of the 2012 BiggerPockets Real Estate Investing Summit to attendees of the event and today we're opening it up to everyone!

I think it is a much better venue for the second Summit, easy for all to get to, lots to do, numerous venue locations, etc.Plus, if you look at the stats, the largest showing of attendees as the 1st Summit were from West Coast by far.

Hopefully we can get a few more attendees.

Most attendees these days are sick of sales pitches.
