I guess I don't feel to threatened by this type of liability, but I also feel like any additional layer of protection to my assets is a good thing.Coincidentally, I never considered RI when I was renting, lol...never had anything I considered worth the trouble.

The tenant is threatening small claims court unless the full deposit is returned minus the damage.

Therefore he is not going to threaten to sue them for his loss.

Of course she sent a text back asking who I thought I was threatening and her uncle is a lawyer and all that other good stuff.

Hi everyone,One of my tenants who moved out a few months ago is threatening to sue in small claims court.

I will also make sure to call her my tenant and threaten to withhold her security deposit for just about anything she does whenever friends are around, just cause I really like annoying her. 

the story starts in January of 2016, when i added a tenant to my one family house. 10 days later she decided to move her stuff in. she rented a one bedroom in my house and was bringing in her belonging that could fill a fill 1 bedroom apt. when she didn't have enough place to put her stuff she began to leave everything in the living room. when i confronted her about it, she began to act threatening and irrational. i thought "hey she is stressed. let her cool down. the following day i tried to talk to her and she really lost her mind. i told her "it was not going to work out and she had till the end of the month to find somewhere else to leave.

It's a full time job just threatening to leave these big companies because they keep trying to raise rates.   

Tenant A is now threatening to move out due to being unable to live next to Tenant B.
