You might want to draw a circle around West Jordan/Salt Lake around 100 miles radius (should be around 2 hour drive) and see what cities and towns you find.

I honestly don’t see much of an impact in the market in The salt lake and surrounding counties.  

Vacancy rate seems to vary by the neighborhood, but 10% seems like a reasonably conservative numbers for most neighborhoods that I've looked at.Re: taxes, I would also factor in whether your property taxes might take a significant jump if you're doing major fixes and the property value is reappriased by the county (especially if you're pulling permits).Still learning myself, so take all of the above with a grain of salt and best of luck with your search!

Take it with a grain of salt (it's what I do), but the returns can be great and the time investment is low.

I am trying to buy a multi family home or duplex around Salt Lake City and I am finding that many of the properties posted for sale don’t allow a showing until an offer has been made.

I'm curios if anyone in the Salt Lake Area has suggestions for a good cleaning crew/company that will go in and really make the place shine so I can start showing it as soon as he's gone?
