But even with the poly coated wood, you are not bullet proof, so I would provide complimentary mats at the entries and even a couple of runners and area rugs in higher traffic areas.

We use Scott's for all of our tenant move in orientations. 

I go into detail on this issue during my move-in orientation so they know that we won't cover any of their possessions for any reason. 

You can even suggest rugs to your tenants and decrease the security dep. by a few dollars for having one in every room.
