. $17k price point makes me think of a place that I wouldn't drive through without a weapon on my leg.

I spend my time on real estate taking the first actionable steps by reading books, blogs, watching youtube videos, listening to podcasts to educate myself, which builds confidence and the vocabulary to be able to have conversations with other investors who are already successful, think out side of the box, create opportunities, make deals and know what I'm doing and talking about...this is a key part of  your arsenal, and the more weapons you have at your disposal the better off you will be.

If only I could tie them down to pick any one years of my last 33, betting anything he wouldn't make it 6 without looking a a rope or loaded weapon or heavy traffic in far unimaginable ways.

That is my biggest weapon in negotiating a lower price and in NC once you find problems (material facts) the sellers rep has to disclose it to anyone else if your deal falls thru.

You have a contract pay the bill or get off the land.... federal land belongs to the people not these crack potsfreedom to peaceable assemble, I don't think it's peaceful when you show up with assault weapons quoting scripture etc. and occupy federal lands, once again these are crack potsOhh I guess all I can say is the bundy group should be ohh so glad I'm not in charge, I would of skipped the FBI and national guard for that matter and called in the marines, they would of been given an hour to surrender.

However, mistakes do happen (hanging out with a wrong crowd) or wrongful convictions so if the applicant can prove that they are a righteous citizen now, then I would personally feel that it would be ok to rent to them if they have a track record of paying bills on time and good landlord references etc. 

Y'all just gotta up your body armor and weapons budgets - bunch of sissy A and B class investors :-P

I am sure they are going to check everyones apartment to see if anyone is growing drugs, weapons, and what ever other illegal activities there could be going.
