All too often people keep things like this to themselves, not realizing the law of reciprocity and how they can be benefactors as well.

I've just in the last few days started considering reciprocity states, but I need to learn more about that and I probably wouldn't do it just yet, possibly in a few years though (like WI, IN, FL and maybe CO). 

I'm curious if any agents take advantage of reciprocity for investing or such?

That doesn't sound like you're renting out the property to me, just being generous to your friends and they're reciprocating with contributing to other necessary bills...

(I am currently stationed in MD, but invest in NC).Once I was licensed in MD - NC issued my license via reciprocity.
