Refinancing game is tricky.

Gotta have some skin in the game. 

To win the STR game, especially if you're a new entrant, the most important aspects are 1) Amenities2) Location3) Property type4) UniquenessAll are geared toward you standing out on Airbnb/VRBOHot tubs, fire pit, bowling alley, pools etc. or being in the best location in an area as well as being to host a large group are all things to help you win.

To me it’s a challenging game, an intricate puzzle where if you learn how to play you get great results.

Within a year, the property was cash flow positive and had appreciated significantly.For you, I’d suggest:Look into ADU laws - They’re a game-changer in San Diego, especially if your partner is handy with renovations.Expand your market - @Dan H. makes a great point - it's a competitive market here!

Might look at deal machine. 

In the end, you have 2 choices when there is a change, blame the system or find a way to win the game.
