There's nothing wrong with renting for a year, getting your shoes on the ground, and learning more about the market. 

I came across Bigger Pockets a few months ago and have been learning on my own by listening to podcasts (RE Rookie, On the Market, BP RE Podcast) and reading the various recommended books every chance I get.

I have heard of "bigger pockets" through several books I have read as well as podcasts that I have listened to.

Have been listening to BP podcasts and reading books lately.

Read books, listen to podcasts, and consult with experienced investors who can guide you through the process.Analyze the MarketLook for areas where multifamily properties are available at reasonable prices and where rental demand is high.

Listen to the advice you've received from many others, and let the HOA/Condo Board resolve the issue. 

We try to have weekly talks about goals, we have a spreadsheet for everything job, investing, health and etc. it is hard for me because I want to push, but I just listen and that is better that way.
