A more serious effect (for me) is that if the replacement property decreases in value, you can't sell it cheap without incurring a - possibly mind-boggling - tax liability.

It still boggles my mind the number of owners that buy houses in reasonable shape,do nothing to keep them up ,and expect to re-sell at a profit!!??

It's mind-boggling how you got 3 deals in a row like that.I always test $25-50K with a new operator.

There is such a wealth of information it is mind boggling.

It is pretty mind boggling that you can listen to hundreds of hours on the same material and still miss something.

Go back and read my 50+ posts in regards to investing in multi-unit properties if you are serious about investing because I don't have a big head (or maybe I do), but the numbers I post are mind-boggling.

As a lender/broker, my hands are tied when the borrower boggles their own transaction & it happens a lot.Their credit score goes down, they change their employment, they buy a car, apply for credit, spend their down payment, produce a problematic tax return, income cannot be verified as they disclosed, judgments turn up, they forget to tell the truth about child support, etc.

I wish the paper work reduction act would be real and they would move to post -card taxes-- the complexities are just mind boggling..

I echo all the comments about confusing and mind-boggling categories. 

@Jerryll Noorden you may feel that way because CT is the 'list', the amount of distressed inventory in Hartford and the sorrounding area is mind boggling.
