Independence Heights was Texas' first African American municipality, which was later annexed into the City of Houston.

The whites were racist or afraid or had some kind of issue with African Americans moving around them.

Think about it: when you see a lot of African Americans are on section 8 voucher program, do you generalize and say "All blacks are lazy"? 

As someone that is married to an African American I hope you are not pulling a race card.
