I have a few that will float expenses but even some of the other good ones need to get paid pretty quickly.But having a protocol is a very good idea.

Install a new floating floor over it, and not worry about again.

A good drywall finisher (or an old plasterer) can float the ceiling out without having to install a layer of drywall... best part, no seams that bleed through...

This will bring the metal/mesh patch closer to the original sheetrock which reduces the amount of float area, reduces the ability to see a patch when completed and allows for easier feathering when finishing.

You could easily file the articles of organization for an LLC in your state and get an EIN from the IRS but unless you're an attorney, drafting your own operating agreement that will float is more difficult.
