Are you suggesting we should ban our renters from parking cars on the property or owning a shovel, golf clubs, steak knives, baseball bats, hammers, etc?

I kept hearing about how investing in the closest market was the best thing to do, but it makes sense that if there's nothing that fits your criteria, you're going to look elsewhere. 

I am also a member of Gen Y, having been born in 1987.Most of my friends moved to the biggest city closest to where we grew up, which for me would be Pittsburgh.

LOLI actually created a spreadsheet for myself with 6 varying levels of lifestyles. my bare whatever life is around 40k/year my standard life is around 72kcontent life is 120k>>Happy life (I think) is 360kI also have an extreme luxury life (think private jet charters, multiple mansions, a yacht, steak dinner level eating every meal) at $900k I'm totally going for the extreme luxury life, cause why not

then as much as i can drink during the day and especially if i am going on a long flight like today  vegas to Philly 5 hours.. work out in hotels all decent hotels have a little gym some have really nice gymduring layovers I walk the terminals. like at Ohair I will walk the entire terminal takes a little more than an hour.. smaller airports a little tougher but i will do circuts.. my biggest problem is vendor dinners  its always the nicest resturant in town best steak  martini's great wine etc etc.those are tough to dodge.. but just dont have desert..

I will say college because it's the closest to my real answerBOOKS college is a place where you may or may not get educated. if you can find a way to make reading a lifelong habit, my opinion is that it is by far the best investment one can possibly participate in.

The closest thing to finances I learned during high school was learning how to balance a checkbook in home economics class. 

We don't have a REI club in my area and the next closest is a few hours away in Little Rock, AR.
