They are unique especially to Boston but also to other major New England cities that needed to house many families to work in mills and factories back then.  

Many of these homes are built in factories to bare minimum building codes though meaning that many of them will not last as long as the older homes.Different ages of homes carry different service and maintenance costs as well.

The prices for downtown are coming up quick and I know there's a lot going on with GM but rumor is new factories and jobs are coming to the area so I'll definitely keep my eyes open.
